FRASER JOHN LINDSAY’S BLUES INCENTIVE

Based in Glasgow, guitarist Fraser John Lindsay and hisBlues Incentive have become a welcome addition to the thriving Glasgow music scene with electrifying Australian-born singer Charlotte Marshall. In March 2017 Fraser performed live at Paisley Arts Centre with six of the best – and hardest working – musicians on the Scottish live music scene; a very special evening that showcased their unique blend of blues, rock n roll and jazz influences.

Over the years Fraser has played guitar with many local bands and musicians from Paisley, such as Little Miss Debbie and the Scumbag Boogie Band, Riff Raff, Willie Matthews, Blind Panik and Jill Jackson. His first taste of the blues was at the age of eighteen when he jammed withThe Statesboro Blues Band at Glasgow’s State Bar. It was here that Fraser met his currentBlues Incentive rhythm section Kenny Robertson (drummer) and Tim Clarke (bassist) who have been playing together consistently for over twenty years and the State Bar blues jam still runs every Tuesday night.

It was at this very jam session in 2012 that Fraser and his rhythm section were introduced to vocalist / bassist Charlotte Marshall. Almost immediately Charlotte was invited to sing with Fraser’s band; and for the past five years theFJL Blues Incentive have been busy gigging and recording throughout Scotland. In 2014 the band were honoured to perform at the opening night of the Edinburgh Blues Club at theVoodoo Rooms.

Fraser and Charlotte currently host two fantastic blues jam sessions every week in Glasgow bars: Swing (Thursdays), and Howlin’ Wolf (Sundays) – attracting some of the most talented blues musicians and singers from all over the UK and abroad. Fraser also plays guitar with Charlotte’s fantastic bandCharlotte Marshall & the 45s who were delighted to win The Future of the Bluescompetition in London, 2015.

Fraser’s Blues Incentive gigs always feature a melting pot of top musicians; their fusion of influences and creative talent ensure an exciting, original and entertaining show.

“To see them play live is a truly energetic and vibrant experience. Everything about the band is pure dynamite, further emphasized by guitarist Fraser John Lindsay’s mean riffs, and blues-soul vocalist Charlotte Marshall’s fiery performance”.
